Walking The coast Of Malaga 2023



Each Year we take a walk along the coast of Malaga. From one end to the other. Its 190klm long and we will walk roughly 120 kilometres over 5 sections. This year we are walking from East to West. 

What's Included?

It cost €50 per stage. This will include

  • The guide.
  • The coach transfers to and from Nerja to the start of the walks and pickup at the end of the walks.
  • An Evening meal at Fitzgeralds with a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Chicken, Fish'n'chips, Vegetarian options.
  • Discount for anyone buying all 5 stages. €225.

STAGE 1.
On Thursday 23rd February 2023 we will be transferred by coach to the start close to Nerja at Torrox Costa and walk to close to Benejarafe. This will take us through El Morche, Lagos, Mezquitilla, Algarrobo Costa, La Caleta, Torre Del Mar and beyond to El Jaral Tower. 

This is 23klm and will take about 7 hours including breaks.

At the end of our walk the bus will be waiting to return us to Nerja and a lovely meal at Fitzgeralds Bar.




STAGE 2.
On Thursday 2nd March, we will depart by coach to Benagalbon where we will begin our long walk to Malaga Port. We will pass through Rincon de La Victoria, La Cala, El Palo, Pedragalejo and finally Malaga City. 

This is 18klm and will take 6 hours including breaks.

At the end of our walk the bus will be waiting to return us to Nerja and a lovely meal at Fitzgeralds Bar.




STAGE 3.
On Thursday 9th March we will be transferred by coach to Malaga Port to begin our walk to Benalmádena. We will walk along the Paseo de Malaga to cross the amazing footbridge over the Rio Guadalhorce and on to Torremolinos, Carihuela and finally we end up at the port of Benalmádena.

This is 20klm and will take 6 hours including breaks.

At the end of our walk the bus will be waiting to return us to Nerja and a lovely meal at Fitzgeralds Bar.




STAGE 4.
On Thursday 16th March we will have our coach transfer take us to Cala Mijas where we will continue our trek along the coastline walking through Calahonda, Cabopino, The Dunes of Artola, Marbella.

This is 21klm and will take 6 hours including breaks.


At the end of our walk the bus will be waiting to return us to Nerja and a lovely meal at Fitzgeralds Bar.




STAGE 5.
On Thursday 23rd March we will be transfered to Estapona where we will continue our walk where we will finally finish at the border of Cadiz close to Sotogrande. We will pass through Estepona, Puerto de la Duquesa and Punto Chullera.

This is 23klm and will take 7 hours including breaks.

At the end of our walk the bus will be waiting to return us to Nerja and a lovely meal at Fitzgeralds Bar.



What should I bring along?

Good walking shoes.

A change of socks.

Raingear just in case.

Sunglasses.

Hat or cap.

Comfortable clothes.

Drinks and snacks but these can be bought enroute.

We will NOT be stopping at restaurants for food. Its takes too long. Its better to bring sandwiches and fruit to keep you going until we have a nice meal when we return to Nerja.
