The Hidden Village

The Hidden Village of El Acebuchal
Price: €25 per person includes transport and lunch.

This is a very special day out in the wild mountains of Sierra Almijara. We will walk is areas almost never seen by the usual tourism and still be no more than 10 kilometres from the nearest beach. We will wander through the most beautiful little valley of Arroyo de Acebuchal. A three hour stroll through this hidden valley, just enough to work up a good appetite and then lunch in the wonderfully restored hamlet of El Acebuchal.

First we meet up in Plaza Cantarero, Nerja at 10am and then we drive for 20 minutes to the Four Ways, Cuatro Caminos, high up in the hills behind Frigiliana. From here we stroll through the valley for a couple of hours before we arrive at the small hidden village at 1pm, where a lovely lunch awaits us provided by Antonio and Sebastian, the brothers who run this lovely café. After a leisurely hour or so with lunch on the terrace we take a short walk through the village its self where you stop off at the La Tienda De Abuelo, Grandfathers Shop, to get a few important items like ceramics, chorizo, cheese, honey or homemade wine.

We then walk for a half hour back to the minibus and return to Nerja for 4pm. Plenty of time left for a sunbathe or a sea swim. This walk can be done in trainers but flipflops are not advised. You'll want sun screen and a hat. Walking poles are provided.
