So what’s included in a seven night walking Package holiday?
Value for money is the watchword here. There are lots of things included in your Package Price.
· An Airport transfer. It could be a coach if it’s a group or a private car if it’s just yourself or maybe a couple. We will have someone to meet and greet you at the airport, Malaga, Almaría or Granada, drive you to your accommodation in Frigiliana or Nerja AND they will pick you up on the last day and deliver you safely and in time to catch your flight home.
· Accommodation. Seven nights bed and breakfast , half board, self-catering or apartments, townhouse and hotels will be of a very high standard and all are centrally located in Frigiliana town or Nerja town centers. We have a superb range on offer and we will send you photos of the accommodation before you book.
· Guided Walks. Well, this is what it’s all about, eh? This is my job. I personally guide all the walks. I love it. It’s my passion, my hobby and without a doubt, the best job in the world, bar none. Your holiday includes FIVE guided walks. Some will be longer than others but I spread them out so that you are not too tired to walk. It’s about enjoyment, not endurance. Most of my hikes are five hours long and attaining on average 600 meters to 1000 meters high. On request I will guide an epic eight hour hike into the very high mountains (circa 1500-1800 meters). The beauty of Frigiliana is that there is no transport needed at the start of the walk. At 320 meters (1000 feet) above sea level, Frigiliana is the start and end point for most of the walks. On occasion we end up in Nerja but the bus gets us home in 15 minutes.
· Packed Lunch, Rucksack and Walking Stick. Every guest will receive a Rucksack, a Walking stick and a packed lunch each day from me. A large bottle of water (1.5 litres), two apples, two energy bars, nuts and a croissant. For a five hour hike, it’s enough to keep you going. The secret is a good breakfast in the morning before your start. As we usually don’t start until 10am-10.30am, that gives you plenty of time for a good breakfast either in your hotel, apartment or at the local restaurant at the starting point.
· Guided Evening Tours of Frigiliana, Nerja and Malaga city’s “Old Quarter”. This is all included in your package. All you have to pay for is your bus fare or taxi fare if required and entry to any of the museums. A walk around Frigiliana and Nerja in the evening time is wonderful. I’ll show you all the best bars, restaurants and nightclubs (if your able to dance then I’m not doing my job right). Malaga city is an incredible place to visit. A hidden gem. Most people think Malaga is an airport that must be vacated as soon as you arrive. The old city in fabulous. I will personally guide you around all of the sights, castles, cathedrals, museums, bars, restaurants and plazas. I love Malaga city, even more than Granada with its Alhambra. This is your rest-day tour. You may prefer the beach , of course, but take the Malaga city tour with me. Its included in the price and its well, well worth it.
· Photography. Ever come back from a holiday with 1000 photos and you are in none of them??? Well, I take all the photos and video. I have a Canon Powers hot A720. It takes a great shot and the video is decent enough too. I upload the pictures into a web-album and then forward everything onto you, the client. I’ll take photos with your camera too if you want but in the meantime I’ll be busy snapping away while you’re not looking...they're always the best ones...
· Insurance and Legal. I’m covered for “Civil Responsibilidad” or Public Liability. I’ve also got “rescue” insurance in case an accident takes place in the hills. Most of you will have insurance before you get here. I have an authorization to carry out hiking and walking tours in the mountains of the Sierra Almijara Natural Park area. There is a copy of it and the insurance on my website on the page marked “About Us”. It’s nice to know that your guide is covered and authorized too.
· My services. I live in Frigiliana. My home is here with my partner, Christine. I am available at any time for your enquiries. You will receive my mobile number on arrival. You may call it anytime about anything and I will answer your query, solve your problem or find somebody who can. It’s a personal service that I can give because it’s what I’m good at. You work hard for your time off, your walking holiday, your leisure time. I know and I understand that and it’s always at the back of my mind.
